Book review 2-18: The Fireboy


This is the story of Hapu. He lived in Ancient Egypt at the time of Queen Cleopatra. His father had a small factory. He was making gold tables and chairs. Hapu was helping him. The work was hot and very hard. Hapu was a "fire boy". They were poor people. They needed to make money. Every evening, Hapu talked to his father about future. They wanted to become very rich. But, there days later his father became ill. His father couldn't work for two weeks. In that time, Hapu made a lot of tables and chairs. And, he made a gold necklace, too. He thought, Queen Cleopatra is going to like this. The next morning he went to palace. He gave the necklace to Cleopatra. She was very pleased, and she gave him some money. Hapu and his father were very pleased. Then Cleopatra wanted to employ him in palace. But, he couldn't leave his father. And, they made a lot of things only for Cleopatra in their factory. Now, they are rich!!
